The Quote

How is the quote calculated?

We calculate your quote based on its potential resale value, and having sold thousands of used laptops over many years, we have a vast quantity of data to base our calculations on. Generally speaking, the older the laptop, the less it’s worth. There are many other aspects that affect the value, though, which is why we ask you for so much information about your old laptop.
Values depreciate all the time, though, so if you’re happy with the quote you’ve received, you should accept it before it changes!

What if your assessment differs from mine?

If our assessment differs from yours, usually because we either don’t agree with your assessment of the condition of your laptop, or if the specification turns out to be slightly different, then we’ll send you a revised quote. And if you’re not happy with the revised quote, we’ll be happy to send your laptop back to you, free of charge.

Can I get a quote for desktops?

No, unfortunately this trade in scheme is just for laptops.

Security

Will my personal data be removed?

Yes, we will remove all of your personal data using Blancco data wiping software, which is government approved. And if you just choose to use us just to recycle your old laptop, then we’ll physically destroy the HDD, so either way, your data will be secure.

What will happen to my laptop?

When your laptop arrives with us, we’ll log it on to our system, test that it functions properly, wipe the data from it, and then assess its condition. Assuming it works, we’ll then clean and re-package it, and finally find a second home for it and sell it on.

Will this process meet WEEE regulations?

Yes, our process actually exceeds the requirements of WEEE Regulations. WEEE Regulations state that whole units should be re-used as a priority, which we is what we always try to do, and when we do have to dispose of old or faulty equipment, our process ensures that nothing goes to landfill.

Is shipping included?

Yes, shipping is included in your quote.

How does the shipping process work?

All you need to do is select a collection date when prompted, on the page we ask you to enter your shipping details. Make sure you give yourself enough time to package your old laptop up securely. And if for any unforeseen circumstances you need to change the collection date, you can also easily do so. Just call 0161 777 1011 and give us your unique consignment reference number, which we’ll give to you when you confirm your quote.

How should I package my laptop?

Packaging your laptop securely is very important in order to avoid any damage in transit, which will of course impact upon the value of your laptop. Full packaging instructions will be sent to you when you have accepted your quote.

Will I be able to track my laptop?

Yes, once you’ve entered all of your details and confirmed your quote, we’ll send you your login and details, which will allow you to track the status of your laptop right through the process. Just press the login button at the top right hand corner of the screen.
